Welcome to the F&D Kitchen Solutions blog!

Blogs seems to be all the range right now. Everyone is doing it and because we don’t want to be left behind or left out, I thought I’d better give it ago. But what does a kitchen company write a blog about? Well, this is a question I’ve had going around my head for a couple of weeks now. Do I write about our day to day working, almost like a dairy? Although I don’t think anyone would read it. Perhaps I could write about all the weird and wonderful things that come with a job like this, which is something I’ll probably come back to. Maybe I’ll just link you back to my personal blog which has nothing to do with kitchens, at least it would get me more views. Maybe I should write funny things that have nothing to with anything! However that’s what twitter is for (and if you don’t follow us on twitter you can find us here @FDKitchens ) Again I’m sure no one would read it. And Because that’s what a blog is for, to be read and hopefully enjoyed, an engaging topic is important.

As you might be able to tell I have taken a different approach to this whole blogging endeavour. Like most things I do I like to bring something a little different. The standard blog set up: an introduction, my point, why I think this, and a conclusion is just not fun. Of course, it will have to follow this a little bit. It would be no good if I started with the conclusion and had no point at all, which you might be wondering if this is where I’m going, but just stay with me because there’s going to be a payoff (hopefully). Now I’ve rambled for a while, however the question remains, what is it we are going to write about? The answer? I don’t know yet. I’m taking this blogging thing one set at a time. Perhaps something along the lines of ‘Why do you need all that stuff in your oven?’ or ‘Space saving ideas you might not think about’ maybe something a little funnier ‘Handles. Jacket killer or show pace?’ If I can work out how to get a comment space on this perhaps you can leave a comment about what you might like to see.

The next question is how often will there be a blog? Well, that one I can answer, I’m hoping twice a month, I’d like to go for once a week but there’s one of me and I’ve only got two hands.

My hope for this blog is that it will become a place to share new and interesting ideas. That it turn might help you to make an informed decision on what you might like in your kitchen. One thing we like to keep in mind when building an idea for our customers is, everyone uses theirs differently, no two people are the same and this goes for kitchens. One design might work for a young couple with a small space, is not going to work for a big family with a lot of comings and goings, if there are small children it’s a whole different ball game. Each kitchen has a personality and story to tell. We would like to help tell that story, if we can and the first step in that journey could start right here with blog.

As I have been writing this, I have come up with a couple of ideas that I think will make a good topic and will start a discussion. And I invite you to come along for the ride. Remember to check back soon for more interesting and different ideas about all thing’s kitchens. Thank you for taking the time to read this introduction to our blog.
